Spotify, Netflix and More Streaming Giants Accused of Violating EU’s GDPR Rules

A total of eight popular streaming giants, including Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix, among others are under fire for failing to comply with EU’s GDPR privacy rules that were enforced earlier last year.
A complaint has been filed against the streaming giants by Austrian privacy group noyb, led by activist Max Schrems, with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
He requested eight streaming giants for consumer data, which is necessary under the GDPR privacy law, to test their current status but says that most of them failed to produce adequate data.
This should be a major concern for streaming giants as violations against GDPR law results in penalties up to 4% of global turnover.
