The latest report released by NetApplications suggest that more than three years after its release, Windows 10 has finally managed to surpass Windows 7 in global market share.
As per the report, Windows 10 was installed on 39.22 percent of all computers as of December 2018, while Windows 7 was only found on 36.90 percent of PCs.
To put things into perspective, at the start of the year, the numbers were highly skewed in favor of the ten-year-old operating system, with Windows 10 barely managing 34.29 percent as opposed to Windows 7's 42.39.
Meanwhile, Windows 8.1 continues to slide with only 4.45 percent market share during December 2018, while macOS 10.13 was installed on 2.84 percent of computers.
