The US government shutdown has put people out of jobs and crippled essential services, but one website which is seeing an uptick in traffic is Pornhub. In a press release, the adult website says there was a distinct shift in when people are watching porn, with weekday visits going up 5.94% from January 7-11.
Late-night traffic shot up by 14% while traffic around 1pm when people are usually at work increased by as much a 7% above average.
“Overall, D.C. traffic was up 6.32% above average the week of January 7th to 11th when compared to D.C.’s pre-shutdown averages. Female traffic in D.C. increased by 12.3% above average,” Pornhub said.
