Pro-PewDiePie Hackers Exploiting Old Flaw to Hack Chromecasts, Google Homes, Smart TVs

After wreaking havoc by targeting unsecured printers, pro-PewDiePie activists are now reportedly upping the ante and hacking Chromecast devices, Google Homes and smart TVs to show their support for the popular YouTuber in his hilarious battle for YouTube supremacy against Bollywood music channel, T-Series, even though PewDiePie is ahead by over a million subscribers already.
According to reports, two PewDiePie supporters, @HackerGiraffeand j3ws3r, managed to hack into Chromecast devices to display a pro-PewDiePie message on the TVs of unsuspecting users.
To do that, they claim to have used an old security flaw that has been known since the 1st-gen Chromecast device was launched 5 years ago, but hasn't been patched up by Google just yet.
Called 'CastHack', the bug enables hackers to gain remote access to devices by hijacking the users’ routers through their Universal Plug-and-Play (UPnP) functionality.
