At the ongoing CES 2019, Xiaomi-backed Yi Technologies has announced the Yi Home Camera 3 that comes with AI-based features to prevent users from being inundated with useless notifications.
According to Yi, the camera can record 1080p videos, and comes with object detection technology that prevents ‘false positives’ being generated because of flying insects, signal interference or even pets walking past the device.
It also comes with integrated advanced sound detection algorithms that the company says can identify unusual sounds within a 16 feet radius, and notify users about it.
The Yi Home Camera 3 has been priced at $40 (around Rs. 2,800) and will be available in the US by the end of January. All buyers will also get 6 months of complementary cloud storage. There’s no word, however, on if it will ever reach Indian shores.
