Waymo Driverless Cars Reportedly Still Need Human Drivers in Rainy Weather

Google’s Waymo may have launched its self-driving cab services in the US state of Arizona last year, but reports from different sources suggest it may not quite be ready for full-scale deployment just yet.
While earlier reports suggested that the autonomous cars get confused by unmarked left turns and hesitate before changing lanes, a latest report by The Verge now claims that the cars may also have problems during rains and thunderstorms.
According to Shawn Metz, one of the handful of users who have been riding Waymo vehicles ever since their testing phase, he once saw the human driver switch over to manual mode during inclement weather out of safety concerns.
