At CES 2019, Samsung showed off a number of new-age TVs and other IoT products, such as connected ACs and kitchen appliances, but didn’t really make a song and dance about 5G, unlike some other companies in the semiconductor business, like Intel or Qualcomm.
However, as noted by VentureBeat, the company still managed to show off a number of 5G devices, including a 5G Access Unit, a wireless 5G router, a 5G Massive MIMO unit and more. However, the one thing that stood out was an unidentified ‘5G prototype smartphone’ with a punch-hole display.
Samsung is rumored to launch a couple of 5G variants of the Galaxy S10 next month, but the company didn’t say whether the device on display was, indeed, one of those models.
