PUBG and Fortnite may be the among two most popular battle royale titles in history, but according to a report from analytics firm, Sensor Tower, the developer behind the game ‘Knives Out’ actually made more money that the publishers of the two more renowned titles.
Knives Out creator, NetEase, grossed $465 million worldwide last year in spite of the fact that most gamers in the critical US market have never even heard of it. For context, Fortnite made ‘only’ $455 million during the same period.
Often described as a PUBG clone, Knives Out is wildly popular in Japan, which contributed a whopping 80 percent to the game’s bottom line last year, while the US contributed a mere 1 percent to the revenue.
