Robotic Sex Toy Booted Out of ‘Innovation Award’ at CES 2019 For Being ‘Immoral’

A robotic sex toy was awarded at CES 2019 as part of the show’s Innovation Awards program, but the show’s organizers reportedly later cancelled the award and banned the device from being exhibited at the event because it’s an adult product.
Called the Osé massager, the device is created by a company called Lora DiCarlo in partnership with an engineering professor at Oregon State University.
According to BuzzFeed News, organizers banned the Osé by invoking a clause that says any product can be removed from display if it’s deemed to be “immoral, obscene, indecent, profane, or not in keeping with CTA’s image”.
It’s worth noting, though, that even as private sex toys are being castigated as immoral, VR Porn is being displayed in full view of the public at the event, with a porn company describing the show(s) as ‘The Future of Adult Entertainment’.
