Reliance Jio has reportedly started blocking a number of VPNs and proxy sites on its network. It’s not immediately clear when the blocking started, but the issue is believed to have been first highlighted by Redditor u/Alpha-Grizzly, who reported about the problem last week.
Do note that not all proxies and VPNs have been blocked, with the likes of HideMyAss and CyberGhost still connecting just fine. The ones that are blocked (like Zend2), however, are displaying the message as seen below, although, it’s not immediately evident which exact DoT order Jio is referring to.
It’s worth noting that the blocked sites are still easily accessible via other ISPs, including the state-owned BSNL.
