Plex Reportedly Planning to Offer Free, Ad-supported Streaming Service

The popular media-manager app, Plex, is reportedly planning to bring free, ad-supported movies to the platform. According to TechCrunch, the company is currently in discussions with studios, networks and other content providers about distributing their programming and subscriptions through Plex.
Once known primarily as a media-player, Plex has been steadily increasing its feature-set over the past year, adding podcast support, introducing on-demand web shows and even bundling music streaming service Tidal with the Plex Pass subscription package.
