Amazon Says More Than 100 Million Alexa Devices Sold So Far

Amazon has revealed that more than 100 million devices with Alexa on board have been sold since the launch of the Echo platform. Amazon’s SVP of devices and services, Dave Limp, told The Verge that Amazon is sold out of Dots through January.
Despite this massive milestone for the company no one regards as a hardware company, Amazon Echo still has a long way to go to catch up with Siri and Google Assistant, both of which are default options on most smartphones. According to Canalys, Amazon Echo reclaimed the top spot for Q3 2018 global smart speaker sales with 6.3 million units shipped. The global smart speaker market is estimated to reach revenues of approximately $19 billion by 2023, growing at an impressive rate of 31 percent.
