A research note from Hong Kong-based GF Securities suggests that the upcoming Mi 8 and Mi MIX 4 smartphones from Xiaomi will both ship with triple-camera setups on the rear, with at least the latter also incorporating a ‘periscope’ lens for optical zoom capabilities.
The document also apparently states that the Mi 9 will be the first triple-cam handset from the company, which means it will likely be launched before the Mi MIX 4. The devices are said to be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, which means both of them will likely be 5G-compatible.
The report further states that Xiaomi is considering using a folding display for the Mi MIX 4, although, that hasn’t been decided for certain just yet. Both devices will be launched next year, so we’ll hopefully get more info about them in the weeks ahead.
