Tesla has released a portable 14-50 wall connector for EV charging. The company claims that it would be convenient to install around any home or office, and will offer 25 percent faster-charging speeds, compared to the Gen 2 Mobile Connector.
According to the listing on the official Tesla site, the device will utilize an existing NEMA 14-50 outlet for easy installation without the need for an electrician. It comes with a dedicated 24-foot cable for maximum flexibility and provides 40 amps (9.6kW) of power for all Model S, Model X and Model 3 Long Range vehicles. Model 3 Mid Range and Standard Range vehicles will charge at 32 amps when using the 14-50 Wall Connector, says Tesla.
The wall connector has been priced at $500 and is available for purchase on the official Tesla site.
