Huawei Mate 20 Pro was one of the biggest smartphone photography stories of last year, but DxOMark scores say it’s not better than the P20 Pro, which was released in mid-2018.
The Mate 20 Pro earned an overall score of 109 inDxOMark’s to take the top spot on the leaderboard along side Huawei P20 Pro. The Mate 20 Pro got a score of 114 for still photos, which is the same score as the P20 Pro.
One of the reasons why the Mate 20 Pro may not have come out on top by itself is that its images when zoomed had less detail than the P20 Pro, which DxOMark says is due to the lack of a monochrome sensor on the Mate 20 Pro.
