A new report from advocacy group, Privacy International, claims that 20 out of 34 popular Android apps it tested, 'automatically transfer' personally-identifiable data to Facebook without permission.
"Some apps routinely send Facebook data that is incredibly detailed and sometimes sensitive", said the report. "This happens whether people have a Facebook account or not, or whether they are logged into Facebook or not", it claimed.
The offending apps reportedly include MyFitnessPal, DuoLingo, Kayak, Indeed, Shazam, Skyscanner, Spotify, TripAdvisor and Yelp, among others. According to the report, the information includes the app's name and the user's unique Google ID.
