Amazon Reportedly Developing a Game Streaming Service

On a day when Amazon’s IMDb launched its potential Netflix-competitor, ‘Freedive’, a report from The Information seems to suggest that the tech giant is working on a new game streaming service for next year.
The report suggests that the service will look to eliminate the need for consoles or PCs to run the most resource-heavy titles. It’s not yet clear whether Amazon will leverage the Twitch brand for this.
Game streaming services have suddenly become all the rage among tech companies, with Sony, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia and others jostling for a slice of the nascent pie. Sony’s ‘PlaySatation Now’ streaming platform debuted last year, while Google is currently testing its Project Stream service. Microsoft also recently announced Project xCloud, which will go into public trials this year.
