Bharti Airtel has announced that it is discontinuing international roaming activation charges for all customers with immediate effect. Up until now, the company used to charge Rs. 99 to activate the feature.
Airtel reportedly sent an e-mail to postpaid subscribers saying it’s doing away with the fee for all its customers.
This brings Airtel’s services in line with that of Reliance Jio, which never imposed any charge to activate international roaming for its customers. The international roaming service does not include data services at the moment and Airtel sells separate packs for data services.
