A Change.org petition filed by an LGBTQ+ advocacy group is asking Google to remove from the Play Store a notorious ‘gay conversion therapy’ app that peddles misinformation about homosexuality and promises to change the sexual orientation of gay people.
According to ‘Truth Wins Out’, the organization behind the petition, the app is promoting debunked conspiracy theories about homosexuality against the Play Store guidelines that promise ‘inclusion, respect, and diversity’.
The app is the handiwork of a far-right Christian group and was recently removed from the App Store by Apple for violating the company’s policy on hate speech.
