Patent Filing Suggests Samsung Working on ‘Foldable’ Drones

Documents filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) apparently reveals that Samsung is working on ‘transformable drones’ that will incorporate not only a camera, but also a plethora of sensors, such as gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, thermometer, and ultraviolet sensors.

Believed to have been first spotted by DroneBelow, the application was filed on June 15, 2017, and was published by the US patent agency on December 20, 2018.

The document suggests that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) will come with the usual connectivity options, but apparently, it could be controlled by not just smartphones and tablets, but also by smartwatches, washing machine, body implants and more.
