Google Shows What Search Results May Look Like Under New EU Copyright Laws

With the EU set to enact copyright legislation that would require internet companies like Google to pay publishers to display even a small extract of the latter’s content, the search giant has now released a few images of what Google News may look like in the EU after the legislation is finalized.
The screenshots, which Google shared with Search Engine Land, seems to show barren pages with virtually every bit of content stripped off, including images, news snippets and headlines.
The only things visible are the name of the site and a timestamp informing users how long ago Google picked up the story.
Do note that the final rules haven’t been formulated yet, so these are just how Google believes its search results might look like once the law comes in to effect, if it doesn’t pay any publishers licensing fees to show content within results.
