GoFundMe Sets up Fundraiser For US Govt Workers Affected by Shutdown

With around 800,000 federal workers in the US either furloughed or forced to work without pay because of the ongoing government shutdown over the proposed wall at the Mexico border, crowd-funding platform GoFundMe has setup a fund to help those worst affected by the situation.
The fund was launched in collaboration with spiritual healer and alternative medicine advocate, Deepak Chopra, with a target of $125,00, and has received donations of almost $100,00 after two days. According to the official press release, the donations will be distributed to several nonprofit organizations across the country offering direct assistance to the workers.
