After the picture of an egg beat Kylie Jenner to become the most ‘liked’ image in the history of Instagram with more than 44 million likes, many are jumping on the so-called ‘Inta-egg’ bandwagon to see if they can get their own egg pictures to go viral.
Now, George RR Martin, author of A Song of Ice and Fire the book behind the super hit Game of Thrones series has thrown his hat in the ring with a tweet that seemingly makes fun of the social media madness. On Tuesday, he posted a photo of what looks like a dragon egg from the series with the caption: “I, too, have a famous egg”, just as fans were reeling from the latest Game of Thrones trailer.
Martin’s photo hasn’t received nearly as much attention as ‘Eugene’ the Insta-egg, but still managed to notch up more than 16,000 likes when we checked.
