Facebook has entered into a partnership with independent charity Full Fact to launch its fact-checking operation in Britain.
As part of the partnership, Full Fact will review and rate the accuracy of content on the social network, according to The Guardian.
The team of fact-checkers at Full Fact will be able to review images, videos, and links posted on Facebook and mark false content as such. As a result, people might know beforehand if a post they are about to share on Facebook was found to be false.
But Facebook would not stop users from sharing or reading false content, and Full Fact will initially be Facebook’s sole fact-checking partner in the region.
