App Spending on Mobile Reportedly Hit $101 Billion Globally in 2018

According to the latest ‘State of Mobile’ report from market research firm, App Annie, worldwide app downloads on mobile devices hit a massive 194 billion in 2018, with China alone accounting for nearly half of it.
The country was also reportedly responsible for nearly 40 percent of all consumer spending on apps, which hit a whopping $101 billion last year. 74 percent of all money spent on apps last year came from games, claimed the report.
According to VentureBeat, the report further revealed that global smartphone users spent 18 billion hours on shopping apps in 2018, but the spread is far from uniform. People in China apparently browsed between 7 and 11 times more than those in India and the US, respectively.
