One would assume that Netflix main rivals include Amazon Prime Video, the upcoming Disney+, the revamped Apple TV service, and many others that are in development. That’s not even including the likes of HBO, NBC and other networks which are always looking to one-up Netflix, whether it’s about content or awards.
But according to Netflix, that’s not the only competition that’s worth worrying over. Netflix is looking at the mobile entertainment ecosystem as a whole and thinks Fortnite is just as big of a rival. “We compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO,” Netflix said in a letter to shareholders yesterday, according to a Bloomberg report. “There are thousands of competitors in this highly fragmented market vying to entertain consumers.”
