Developer Behaviour Interactive has announced that it has removed its popular mobile game, ‘Westworld’, from Google Play and Apple’s App Store. For now, the game can still be played on devices that already have it installed, but it will go offline for good on April 16.
The development comes one month after Behaviour Interactive and Warner Bros. settled a copyright lawsuit from Bethesda Softworks, which claimed that Westworld is a blatant clone of Fallout Shelter, a title published by Bethesda but ironically, also developed by Behaviour Interactive.
The lawsuit accused Behaviour of using “the same copyrighted computer code created for Fallout Shelter”, thereby “breaching its contract with Bethesda and utilizing its restricted access to Bethesda’s intellectual property”.
