Ahead of CES 2019 in Las Vegas, Asus has debuted its Chromebook Education series that it says provides lightweight, rugged Chrome OS devices for the education sector. “The new series features durability, spill- and tamper-resistant keyboards and all-around rubber bumpers to withstand the rigors that electronics often face in schools”, said the company in its press release.
The series includes two traditional clamshell laptops, a convertible and even a tablet with touchscreen display. The first category includes the 11.6-inch Chromebook C204 and the 14-inch Chromebook C403, while the second category accounts for the 14-inch Chromebook Flip C214.
All the devices are offered with at least 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and most are powered by Intel processors, starting with dual-core Celeron chips. The only exception is the CT100 tab, which comes with a custom OP1 hexa-core CPU under the hood.
